Environmental Policy

National Quarries Company Limited is committed to being environmentally responsible in the conduct of its operations in the mining, processing, marketing and sale of aggregate.

We will therefore:

• Implement and maintain an Environmental Management System that is certified to the ISO 14001-2004 Standard.

• Consider the environmental impacts of our activities at the planning stage.

• Execute our work in a manner that prevents pollution and minimizes or eliminates negative environmental impacts as far as is reasonably practicable.

• Work towards compliance with relevant environmental legislation and other environmental requirements to which we subscribe.

• Regularly review our Environmental Management System to identify and implement actions to continually improve its effectiveness.

• Set and regularly review environmental objectives and targets consistent with the intent of our Environmental Policy.

National Quarries Company Ltd (NQCL) is well on the way to becoming ISO 9001: 2000 certified.

A Quality Management System (QMS) has been established and is being implemented. This system defines Quality in terms of the satisfaction of the needs and specifications of both internal and external customers, and is designed to consistently satisfy their requirements by identifying and managing all factors affecting Quality.
